Marco Dotti, Giuseppe Guarneri ex David - Heifetz
Handmade by master violin maker Marco Dotti in the workshop of Edgar Russ in Cremona, based on the violin made by Guarneri del Gesu in 1742, whose previous owners included Ferdinand David von Leipzig and Jascha Heifetz.
- Top made of typically Italian spalted hazel spruce from the Val di Fiemme
- Back made of flamed Bosnian sycamore maple, air-dried
- Sides and neck made from the same wood as the back
- Fingerboard made from finest ebony
- The instrument is varnished in the same way as in the 17th century by the great Cremonese masters
- Wood primer based on casein and calcium
- Lacquer finish with an amber/linseed oil lacquer prepared by Edgar Russ himself, which is coloured with pigments to give the instrument a true-to-original lacquer appearance
- Bridge: Aubert De Luxe
- Pegs and tailpiece: Boxwood with a fine tuner
- Endpin: Boxwood
- Chinrest: small lateral model "Dresden" with titanium screws
- Strings: Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Gold
